• The club was formed in 1971, and is part of the Worldwide network of Lions International covering 192 countries and with over 2 million members worldwide 
• The club serves the community of Exeter plus the surrounding towns and villages 
• The prime activity of the club is to raise Funds to meet the needs of those in our community, who are in need
• This is done through special events such as a Casino Night, Race night, collections in town center and local supermarkets.
• All donations we receive are used to support local charities, and since its formation our club  has donated many hundreds of thousands pounds to deserving causes in our community 
• The members also enjoy a variety of social events during the year, where partners and families are welcomed

Our Objectives

The objectives of the club are such purposes as are exclusively Charitable in England and Wales including in particular the advancement of citizenship by promoting the principles of good citizenship. Encouraging members to take an active interest in the civic cultural social and moral welfare of the community. Providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by the members. Encouraging service minded people to serve their community without personal rewards and encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours. Supporting youth to develop their skills capacities and capabilities, to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals Promoting the voluntary sector for the public benefit by associating with local authorities in a common effort to advance education  and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations to improve the life of people, in  the local community Promoting volunteering for the relief of poverty and the relief of those in need.
